During the a day trip to Sintra, Portugal last summer I hit three of the many must-see sites. One of them is Castelo dos Mouros (Moorish Castle). It is called a castle but actually it is a fort. Located 27 km west of Lisbon, Sintra is good for a day trip. Sintra is so special because there are a number of palaces, castles, mansions, gardens, monasteries and even a fort there. No wonder this town is one of UNESCO World Heritages. Continue reading
