Light in the tunnel?

How are you? Hopefully you are coping well with the ongoing pandemic. It has been almost half a year since I published my last blog post. Between my struggling to stay sane amid working from home and keeping myself physically healthy I just can hardly manage to find energy and lack focus to blog.

Dutch authorities announced two days ago that the country is facing the third wave due to the British virus strain. While one vaccine after another had been given a go for use, what frustrates me is the uncertainty of the (end of) this pandemic. How some people behave towards the restrictions applied as an attempt to curb the virus spread, has not been helpful either. For some I am able to understand why, for others I find it appalling; the latter refers to the riots against the curfew in certain Dutch cities 3 weeks ago.

As an Indonesian living in The Netherlands, hearing about EU coordination of purchasing the vaccines early, I feel sorry for other countries. It seems so unfair the rest of the world should wait while EU keeps securing yet more batches of order for ‘just in case’. I wonder would there be enough vaccines for every country in the world?

Deeply and almost desperately I long for a state of mind when I can tell myself, yes there is light in the dark tunnel we are in right now. Hopefully that moment would come soon.

  1. Glad to see you back blogging, mbak Yoyen. 🙂
Thanks to our new Minister of Health, he took coronavirus issue very seriously and managed to secure four types of vaccines, Sinovac, Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Novavax.
At least it’s not considered as common flu anymore just like a year ago. It’s a relief.
    Stay safe wherever you are…

Tell me what you think
