MM: Sirih Kuning

This is traditional music from my hometown, Jakarta. I was born and raised there. This music is called Gambang Kromong. The song’s title is Sirih Kuning. Gambang Kromong is a mix of gamelan orchestra with western and Chinese influences. It sounds so indigenously Betawi (local pronunciation of Batavia, Dutch old name of Jakarta). I love it and it reminds me of home.
