Today has been the hottest day in The Netherlands since 1901 according to Dutch meteorology organ. The temperature reached 37 degree Celsius in Arnhem where I work. Starting from Monday heatwave has been dominating West – Europe.
Tuesday I went dining with some friends after work. It was hot indeed but comfortable under the shadow. This pic was taken about 7 pm at a lounge on the Rhine river bank.
And this one was taken at 10 pm on Roof garden. A pop up garden on the roof top of a city parking in the city. The golden hour was beautiful.
This morning, I stepped out of my house to go to work, the temperature was 25 degree Celsius at 8 am. During the day I took some pics trying to capture the heat.
12.30 pm lunch break under the shadow in the city park, 3 minutes walk from the office.
The saddle of my bike was so hot when I left office at 4.30 pm. 37 degree Celsius!
En route home onn the John Frost bridge I stopped for this view, Rhine river right bank.
And this Rhine river left bank. Look at the left on the ‘beach’, people were sunbathing and swimming.
At 8 pm the sky became darker and darker. It started to storm heavily with thunder and lightning accompanied with hail! I have never experienced hail in the summer before. The hail pieces were big.
After 30 minutes the storm turned into rain. Now it is almost midnight. It is still raining but clammy, 25 degree Celsius. I hope I am able to sleep well despite this heat.
