  2. hohoho, this is such a coincidence aku baru aja ikut short course Grammar for adult, di ajar sama 2 editor dari publishing ternama. Jadi ini kayaknya US punya yah? soal comma splicingnya beda aturan.🙂

  3. *mindik-mindik* guilty of all charges! hihi makasih ya mbak Yoyen, selalu informatif postingannya tiap main kesini.

    • Ngebayangin kamu mindik-mindik Meta. Ngga apa-apa banyak salahnya, ngga disetrap.

  4. Mba Yo, would you please explain “Me” vs “I” part?
if you say that without the mention of ‘your wife’, you would say ‘me’.
    * what does it mean? I have ave read this for 5 times, and still don’t get it. hehe
Why was the first sentence (the crossed one) wrong?

    • Vin,
Bahasa Indonesia aja ya jelasinnya. Me vs I memang tricky. Patokannya subject & object pronouns. Subject pronouns (I, you, she, he, it, we, they), object pronouns (me, you, her, him, it, us, them).

This year has brought a big personal development for me. Me disini object pronoun.

This year has brought a big personal development for my wife and I. My wife disini termasuk subject pronoun (my wife: she) maka itu kita harus pake I yang juga subject pronoun.

Misalnya mau pake object pronoun kalimatnya jadi gini: This year has brought a big personal development for me and her. Nanti pembaca bingung her itu maksudnya siapa disini.

      Another example:
You and I (both subject pronouns) are going to have a blast this weekend.
It is going to be a blast this weekend for you and me (both object pronouns).

Mudah-mudahan ngerti ya Vin. Kalo masih bingung juga, ngga apa-apa. Hanya grammar Nazi yang ribet lihat ini🙂

      • Ohh I see. Tidak boleh misalnya : he and her used to be a couple.
Melainkan : he and she used to be a couple.
Gitu bukan mba kira2? Contoh kalimatnya mau yang semudah mungkin. Jadi kepikirannya itu, walaupun agak maksa ya, Mba. Hehe
