30 days movie challenge day 20: Your favorite actress

Meryl Streep is my favorite actress. She succesfully sets her character every time on the film. When she plays a role, she is that role, not Meryl Streep playing. Let’s see; from The French Lieutenant’s Woman to Miranda Priestly in The Devil wears Prada. From Julia Child the chef in Julie and Julia to survivor of Birkenau Nazi camp and heavily traumatized Sophie in Sophie’s choice. From strong Margaret Thatcher in Iron Lady to weeping Joanna Kramer in Kramer vs Kramer. Those are roles with different backgrounds and in various eras.

Miss Streep’s talent has brought her 3 Oscars so far for the category of Best Actress (Kramer vs Kramer, Sophie’s Choice and The Iron Lady). And she has been nominated 17 times for the Oscar. Not to mention 8 Golden Globes she won. Shortly; Meryl Streep is a true chameleon. Love her!

Other favorite actresses of mine are: Jodie Foster, Cate Blanchett, Marion Cotillard, Helen Mirren, Julianne Moore, Tilda Swinton, Natalie Portman, Jessica Chastain, Audrey Hepburn, Saoirse Ronan.

That’s all!

  3. I love Meryl Streep 🙂 I also really like Hilary Swank, Naomi Watts (speak of chameleons!), Cate Blanchett, etc. There are quite a few super talented actresses out there.

    • Yes they are. Sadly some talented actresses succumbed to Hollywood’s pressure to stay young by ruining their face with botox. Look at Nicole Kidman, what a waste.

      • Nicole Kidman, really? I haven’t noticed anything. I have, however, noticed Meg Ryan, who was really pretty and lovable. Whatever possessed her to do THAT to her face?

Tell me what you think
