So, the title is a mouthful. It is difficult to choose which movie to write about for today’s challenge. I actually know scripts of my favorite movies as I have watched them more than once.
The plot in brief. Roger ‘Verbal’ Kint (an excellent role of Kevin Spacey), a small crook, is questioned by the police. Kint is one of two survivors from a massacre and fire on a boat. Kint’s story is a complex one. It is involved him and 4 other criminals and one mean, heartless gangster boss named Keyser Söze.
As the movie continues, the other 4 criminals are in the picture. And Keyser Söze too. The latter is not shown in person. From the dialogues you know that all suspects (Kint and the four) are terrified of Söze. The end of the story reveals who Keyzer Söze is. And it is a genious ending I must say.
The storytelling is filled with flashbacks back and forth. The cast is out of this world. All characters have their own interesting side. Kint has Celebral Palsy. The 4 criminals are as the following. Michael McManus (Stephen Baldwin) is a temperamental professional thief. Dean Keaton (Gabriel Byrne) is a bad cop turns criminal. Fred Fenster (Benicio del Toro) is McManus’ partner. Fenster mumbles the whole movie. I can’t understand him but I find Del Toro hilarous and brilliant playing this role. The last of the four is Ton Hockney (Kevin Pollak), a hijacker.
I won’t spoil any further. If you are interested, just watch this film noir. You’d be wondering the whole movie ‘Who is Keyzer Söze?’
