Sixth Sense is one of my favorite horror movies because of its unexpected ending. The shocking and fearful images in this movie are not as many as in the horror movies issued the past years such as Insidious, The Conjuring, Sinister or even the classics like The Exorcist and Amytiville Horror.
For those who have not seen Sixth Sense. This movie is about a child psychologist (Bruce Willis) who treats a young boy (Haley Joel Osment). This young boy seems a misfits. He declares to his mother he can see the dead. The most famous quote from this film is “I see dead people”. The problem is the boy’s mother (great role of Tony Colette) doesn’t believe him. After a couple of visits the psychologist bonds with the boy. He even encourages the boy to use this ability to help others. So the boy does it. At the end his mother is convinced of his ability. The scene is the most touching in the movie. The boy tells his mother, he knows how the mother thinks of her mother (his grandma). Out of the sudden the boys says casually to his mother “Grandma’s answer to your question is; every day”. Then he asks what is the question. The mother asks this everytime she visits the grandma’s grave ‘Are you proud of me?’. I cry everytime I see this.
And about the ending? Watch it yourself. You will be surprised.
