My husband and I have a habit of visiting Christmas Market in Germany every year. You find christmas markets in cities throughout Europe. We have been to Christmas markets in Austria, Belgium, Luxemburg and France but those in Germany are the most authentic ones in our opinion. Christmas market is like a bazaar with stands selling food, drinks and christmas decorations & prullaria.
Starting from end of November until the last week-end before Christmas, Weihnachmarkt attracts many tourists and locals. Sipping on the mulled wine (me) or hot chocolate (him), eating roasted chestnuts and bratwurst (not in this particular order), listening to Christmas carols, ice skating or just walking through the stands, we just love to sniff to Christmas sphere. So we went to the christmas market in Düsseldorf (two weeks ago) and Köln (Cologne) yesterday. Here are the pics.
So, when you are in Germany around this time of the year, do not hesitate, pay a Weihnachmarkt a visit.
