I am Indonesian married to an Indische-Nederlander, living in The Netherlands since 1995 in a small town nearby German border.

Furthermore I am:

• a foodie
• a history nerd
• a curious traveler
• multilingual (Bahasa Indonesia, Dutch, English, French, Spanish and a bit German)

After years living in NL, I have adjusted to Dutch customs but am still proud being an Indonesian (think of the delicious, tasty food & rich culture). Wayang (both Ramayana and Mahabharata Epics), the history of Majapahit and old Rome and the last but not least, Greek Legends fascinate me.

My youth
With an artist as father, I grew up as a hippie child in Jakarta, among comics (Marvel’s Heroes, Alex Raymond’s Flash Gordon, Esteban Maroto’s Vampirella and many more), Indonesian Arts, Paintings, Literature and Rock ‘n Roll ( Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan etc.). Due to my fascination for France I declared myself a Francophil. Especially French Impressionism has captived me for good.

Reason for blogging
Writing works therapeutic for me, so this blog is launched to share my life here with my family and friends in Indonesia. Since 2009 I have owned an SLR camera which allows me to explore photography. Images used in this blog I mostly shot myself. If not, you see the sources.

Passion for food
I love to eat, cook and bake. My cooking books collection is still expanding. Sometimes I even read them in bed! Visit Lo Foodie© to know more about this particular passion of mine.
